Can the Products You Use Cause Adult Acne?
Many adults in their 30s and older may be surprised to find that they are afflicted with acne, a skin condition mostly present in teens and young adults. There are a number of identifiable causes of adult acne, but not much attention has been given to the effect of skin care products, especially moisturizers. Apart from genetics, stress, hormones and old makeup, moisturizers for dry skin, creams and products used to cover up blemishes are also prime culprits where adult acne is concerned. When moisturizer is used on skin already affected by acne, the condition can worsened as the mineral oil (used in most moisturizers) helps to clog pores.
